Asbury CDC Programs
At Asbury Community Development Corporation, we are dedicated to promoting community service and improving quality of life in Flint, Michigan. Our programs include free food, farming education, neighborhood beautification and clean-up, career and literacy services, and assistance with obtaining community human service resources. Food Pantry
Every Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. individuals and families can supplement their food supply or some (limited) personal items. Asbury CDC partners with the Genesee County Food Bank to provide these services.
We are in need of volunteers to shop, organize, fill orders, and bring creative ideas. We are in continuous need of food items, including meats, as well as paper products, personal care items, like tissues and diapers, as well as financial support.
Food Drive
Our Food Drive, we provide a variety of fresh, healthy options for the community every Tuesday starting at 10:00 a.m. until all commodities are gone. We understand the importance of having access to nutritious food, and we're proud to be able to provide it to those who need it most. Come see us today and grab some free goodies for your family.
Literacy Resources
We believe that literacy is a fundamental human right that everyone should have access to, regardless of their age or background. That’s why our Literacy and Community Resource Center offers a variety of programs and resources to help individuals enhance their reading, writing, and communication skills. We also provide information on key human resource services in the community.
Our Urban Community Farm
Our community urban farm is a place where people can come together to learn about gardening and nature, and enjoy the benefits of fresh, affordable produce. By working together in the garden, we build a sense of community and improve physical health. Our garden also provides opportunities for cooking education and promotes healthy eating habits. Gets people active & improves physical health
Over the last few decades a variety of epidemiological studies have been conducted regarding the effects of urban green spaces, i.e., parks, street trees, and gardens, on health. These studies have shown that the view of nature through windows, living in neighborhoods with a lot of greenery and regularly experiencing nature benefit people’s health and well-being in various ways. Our Urban Farming program is dedicated to enriching the lives of our community through gardening and cooking. Asbury’s programs are designed to educate people of all ages and backgrounds about how to grow healthy, nutritious food, and to prepare it in a way that is both delicious and sustainable. Asbury House
The Asbury House provides housing for local college students with a passion for making a difference in our neighborhood. This is an ideal opportunity for students looking for a unique educational experience whether your future includes social work or entrepreneurship, the Asbury House offers an environment for achieving both academic goals and making an impact in your community. Our house is fully furnished including beds, kitchen items, washer and dryer.

Park Benches
Our Youth Fabricated Benches are a great addition to any community or outdoor space. Using poured concrete supports and treated lumber and hardware, we create sturdy, long-lasting benches that are perfect for parks, schools, and public spaces. Your financial contributions make it possible for our youth to build more benches.
